Industrial Wastewater Treatment 2005

Industrial waste and effluent management remains high on the political and corporate agendas. Tighter regulation and higher emission thresholds have resulted in a major challenge, not only for those buying and operating wastewater treatment plants but for plant designers and manufacturers. Plant performance must now be integrated with the wider range of best environmental practice and emission controls embodied in IPPC Permits. In addition, installed equipment must be fully compliant with Europe wide “best available techniques”. This means that any new technique accepted as “best” and “available” in Europe should be adopted in the UK.

At the same time, IPPC mandates waste minimisation practices which result in reduced overall wastewater emissions, often at higher organic concentrations which are frequently less biodegradable. Apart from changes in wastewater treatment technologies, monitoring and analysis practices are changing, and the way plants are operated and managed is subject to regulatory scrutiny.

This seminar seeks to address a number of these issues with speakers which will talk about the latest technologies, practices and software which can lead to the selection of the best available wastewater treatment plants in accordance with the latest standards. There will be an opportunity to ask questions of each speaker with chances for additional interaction during the two breaks and buffet lunch. It is also hoped that key manufacturers and service providers will take the chance to exhibit at the event (please call 0870 7877872). This seminar should be of interest to industrialists, consultants, Water PLCs, system designers, manufacturers, contractors and service providers. Speakers will cover:

• The latest effluent treatment charges
• How the Envirowise programme can help
• Membrane Bioreactors
• Anaerobic Treatment Systems
• Novel treatment processes
• Sampling and Monitoring
• Latest Plant selection software
• IPPC and effluent treatment

There will be a charge of £85.00 per person which will include morning coffee, lunch and afternoon tea. Attendance at this meeting will qualify for 5 hours of CPD. Directions to the venue are given below. Please book early to avoid disappointment and contact 0870 7877872 or iwwt@pieinternational.com for more information
